Grant DNS Access — Lux Digital Marketing

Grant DNS Access to Lux Digital Marketing

To manage your website and online presence, we need access to your domain's DNS records. Follow the instructions below for your domain registrar — it only takes a few minutes.

GoDaddy Most Common

GoDaddy's Delegate Access feature lets you grant DNS-level access without sharing your password.

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account
Go to godaddy.com and sign in with your credentials.
  2. Open Account Settings
Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner, then select Account Settings.
  3. Click "Delegate Access"
In the left sidebar, click Delegate Access.
  4. Click "Invite to Access"
    Then enter the email address:
  5. Set the access level to "Domains Manager"
From the access level dropdown, choose Domains Manager.
⚠️ Do not select "Account Manager" — that grants billing and account-level access, which is more than we need.
  6. Click "Invite"
We'll receive an email invitation and will accept it within 1 business day.
Once sent, reply to your onboarding email or message us at [email protected] to let us know — we'll take it from there.

Namecheap

Namecheap lets you share access to specific domains without giving up your login.

  1. Log in to Namecheap
Go to namecheap.com and sign in.
  2. Go to Account settings
Click your username in the top-right, then select Profile.
  3. Open "Sharing & Transfer"
In the left menu under your account, click Sharing & Transfer.
  4. Click "Give Access"
Enter the email address [email protected] in the field provided.
  5. Select "Domain List" access
Check the box for Domain List so we can view and update DNS records.
⚠️ You do not need to grant access to "Marketplace", "Billing", or "Private Email" — only Domain List.
  6. Click "Confirm"
An invitation will be sent to our email.
Let us know once the invitation is sent at [email protected] and we'll confirm receipt.

Google Domains / Squarespace Domains

Google Domains was acquired by Squarespace in 2023. Depending on when you registered, you may be on either platform — the steps are nearly identical.

ℹ️ If your domain was transferred to Squarespace, log in at domains.squarespace.com. If it's still on Google Domains, log in at domains.google.com.
  1. Log in and select your domain
Sign in and click the domain name you want to share access to.
  2. Open "Access & Controls" or "Permissions"
In the domain settings panel, look for Access & Controls (Google) or Permissions (Squarespace).
  3. Click "Share Access" or "Add User"
    Enter [email protected].
  4. Set the permission level
Select Editor or DNS Manager (whichever is available). This allows us to update DNS records only.
⚠️ Do not select Owner or Admin — Editor / DNS access is sufficient.
  5. Send the invitation
Click Invite or Send. We'll receive an email and accept within 1 business day.
Email us at [email protected] once the invite is sent so we can confirm access.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare uses a Members system to grant access. We'll be added as a member to your account with limited DNS permissions.

  1. Log in to Cloudflare
Go to dash.cloudflare.com and sign in.
  2. Go to Account Home
Click on your account name in the top-left to open Account Home.
  3. Open "Manage Account" → "Members"
    In the left sidebar:
    Manage Account Members
  4. Click "Invite"
Enter the email address [email protected].
  5. Select the appropriate role
Choose DNS Administrator if available; otherwise use Administrator Read Only.
⚠️ If you have the option to scope access to a single domain/zone, please do so — select only the domain we're working on together.
  6. Click "Send Invite"
We'll receive an invite email and accept it promptly.
💡 Cloudflare also supports multi-user organizations. If your account is part of an organization, the invite path may look slightly different — reach out and we'll walk you through it.
Reply to your onboarding email or send us a note at [email protected] once the invite is out.

Network Solutions

Network Solutions uses an Account Contacts system to share access to your domain management.

  1. Log in to Network Solutions
Go to networksolutions.com and sign in with your account.
  2. Go to My Account
Click your name or the account icon in the top-right, then select My Account.
  3. Open Account Manager
    Navigate to:
My Account Account Manager Manage Account Contacts
  4. Click "Add New Contact"
Fill in the contact details using:
✉️ Name: Lux Digital Marketing  |  Email: [email protected]
  5. Assign Domain Management permissions
Set the contact type to Technical Contact and ensure Domain Management access is enabled.
  6. Save and confirm
Click Save. An email confirmation may be sent to both you and us.
⚠️ Network Solutions' interface can vary. If you don't see the options above, call their support line and ask to add a Technical Contact with DNS access — or reach out to us and we'll guide you through it.
Once complete, email [email protected] so we can verify access on our end.

Bluehost / HostGator

These hosting providers have limited account-sharing features. The most reliable method is to export your DNS zone file and send it to us along with temporary access credentials.

⚠️ Bluehost and HostGator do not support delegation to external email addresses the same way GoDaddy does. We'll walk through the best available options below.
Option A — Export Zone File (Recommended)
  1. Log in and open Domains
Go to your Bluehost or HostGator control panel and navigate to DomainsZone Editor or DNS Zone Manager.
  2. Find and export the zone file
Look for an Export or Download Zone File button. The file will be a .txt or .zone file containing all your DNS records.
  3. Email the file to us
Send the exported zone file to [email protected] — we'll review your current DNS setup and tell you exactly what needs to change.
  4. We'll send you the exact records to add
Once we've reviewed the file, we'll reply with step-by-step instructions for the specific DNS records you need to add or update.
Option B — Temporary cPanel Access
  1. Create a temporary sub-account (if available)
Some Bluehost plans support additional cPanel users. If yours does:
    cPanel Manage Users Add User
  2. Provide us the credentials securely
Share the username and temporary password with us via a secure method (we recommend a password manager link — just ask and we'll send you a secure share link).
  3. We'll update the records and notify you
Once done, we'll confirm the changes and you can reset or remove the temporary credentials immediately.
Start with Option A — email the zone file to [email protected] and we'll take it from there.
